From leadership conferences to participating in the first annual AIDS Walk in Dover Delaware he continues to define the role undergraduate members must play to be effective on college campuses, our communities and as a future torchbearer of Phi Beta Sigma's legacy.
Bro. Booker is currently majoring in Social Work. He admits that there is not a lot of money to be made in the field of Social Work, but making a difference in someone's life is a far better payment than any job can give. The MHF A. Langston Taylor said it best, "there is no greater service than to be in the service of others."
He is a resident advisor and the Undergraduate Assistant in the Office of Student Leadership & Activities. He was recently given the responsibility as Student Coordinator for the Leadership Program; Leadership Enrichment Academic Development (L.E.A.D.). Bro. Booker continues to stress that his passion in life is leadership and helping children, a passion developed from his mother who always and still opens her heart and home to the children in the community.
This young brother has an unshakable faith and recites his favorite verse to get him through each day, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Philippians 4:13. He continues to believe that by putting your trust and faith in God or whomever you may worship and everything will be alright. Undergraduate members of Phi Beta Sigma must continue to develop the skills necessary to be assets in our surrounding communities.
The intentions of our founders were to gain the educational skills from our colleges and universities and share them with our local towns, and not keep them to ourselves. We must continue to hold fast to the greatest words in Sigma, "CULTURE FOR SERVICE AND SERVICE TO HUMANITY".
The
Sigma Spot Light looks to recognize members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity
who are doing great things in our communities.
If you know a brother who may be a potential Sigma Spot Light
candidate send his information to technology@pbs1914.org.
