Sigma Spotlight
| Brother Dwayne Ashley is Chief Executive Officer and President of Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund. He leads the overall strategic direction for the national organization to raise funds for merit scholarships, programmatic and capacity-building support to the 45 Public Historically Black Public Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). With more than 15 years of experience in non-profit management and fundraising, he is one of the country's foremost experts in his field. Ashley comes from a long line of philanthropists and educators. His great-grandmother donated the land for the first colored school in Ringgold, Louisiana. |

Brother Ashley joined Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund in 1998 as Executive Director and was appointed President the following year. He was recently named Chief Executive Officer by the Board of Directors. His vision has moved the Fund to the forefront of being a higher education authority. He serves as TMSF's spokesperson and works closely with the Board of Directors in guiding the company to achieve its goals.
During Ashley's tenure, TMSF's revenues have increased by more than 700%
- more than 75% of the organization's total revenues since its founding have been raised under his leadership, surpassing the $50 million mark.
Brother Ashley was initiated into the Beta Chapter at Wiley College where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. He holds a master's degree in Governmental Administration from the University of Pennsylvania's Fel's School of Government. He is a Life Member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
